And that is how the West was won...
I don't know for sure if I've posted at all this summer, so here goes.
I gained employment from IHCC, for both their Upward Bound program and their College Connections program. In addition to that, I also did the Hut bit on the weekends and took a class to transfer back to UNI.
UB...it was uh...interesting to say the least. I taught 3 French classes as well as regular RA stuff that went with the position, getting around 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night. So, that was a 24/7 position Sunday night through Friday afternoon. However, I got around $1,500 for it, so it was sort of worth it. (And a free trip to St. Louis, and we took the dorm supervisor out to the bar one night) College Connections, I was a RA for a week, so it was pretty much a no-brainer, and it was all people going to be starting IHCC this fall, so not much was involved. Had some fun, made some money.
I've also learned this summer that if I'm going to ride any sort of amusement park ride, I need to have someone big sit by me to make sure I don't go flying out of my seat.
So yeah... Tuesday morning I'm moving back to CF. This year should be an interesting one for me, and I'm not going to know which way I'm going.
Currently, I'm going to be taking 20 hrs of class, doing karate Monday/Wednesday nights, doing a 4 hr field experience, having to do a 1 hr lab, tutoring Spanish, and working somewhere in there.
*bangs head on desk*
Anyway, I'll probably try to catch the Follies Friday night. What time are they at? Anyone?
Well, I'm outta here for now, going to try to pack some stuff up, or something like that.
Hope all is well in everyone else's lives.
Peace.
