Film Writing
As most of you know I have been interesting in making a film for some time. The particular story I started writing was a zombie movie that has evolved and still would technically be something of a "zombie" or "infected" story but has become much more ambitious than the initial project. It is become more character/story driven and much less about crappy special effects and absurd grotesque incidents (although they still exist very much). I know the creative process has been fun but now putting pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) I'm finding to be very frustrating and much less enjoyable. There few creative minds that follow this blog and I wondered what it was that kept you all motivated once conceptualizing something ended and making it began?

A conversation that will happen 1,000 times today
"Ryan Dunn from Jackass died today"

"Which one was he?"

"You know the one who shoved the toy car in his ass?"

"Ohhhhh"

Vidja Games
So I'm sitting on my porch smoking my cigarette at 4:30AM, which is like 2:00PM for you normal people out there. I purchased the game Child of Eden today. Partially because it looked cool, but mostly to justify owning a Kinect. I had read some reviews of the game and had fairly high expectations of it but upon starting it up was instantly blown away. There are a few extremely short tutorials that you barely need right away but once they were gone I was immersed. This is the first time a Kinect games has actually pulled me into the game. Instead performing an activity and watching an avatar mimic you somewhat, you actually are in the game. It is essentially an on rails first person shooter where you can lock on to targets with your right hand and shoot at them with your left. As you play through the beautiful backdrops you feel like you are actually in control of the world around you. The story is too goofy to explain but it doesn't matter. I've not had this much fun gaming in a long time. I wouldn't buy a Kinect for it but I certainly am glad to have purchased this game.

Zombie Burger: A Dream by Kevin Henderson
I had picked up my friend Aaron that for work but instead of going to work we went over to Tim and Sarah's apartment downtown in Des Moines. In my dream downtown had turned into something similar to my imagination of New York City. We hung out and left then came back several times talking about going out to eat. After leaving another time we ended up in West Des Moines where Aaron saw a girl and asked me to let her in my truck. It was her birthday and she wanted to go drinking so we took her to some bar. We all had a few drinks and were enjoying ourselves and she wanted to eat. We couldn't figure out where to go so back to Tim and Sarah's we went. Tim mentioned the Zombie Burger had just opened across the street. We went across the street but could not find the entrance to Zombie burger. Somebody finally pointed us in the right direction but we had to crawl through the insides of a giant pair of overalls that had been turned into a maze that would lead you to zombie burger. Once inside I found a nearly empty dining room filled with burgers. There were 2 types of burgers ones that had apples for buns and others with regular buns but tiny apples that were extremely shiny had been attached to the bottoms of the burgers. I talked with Peter Parker about how cool the place was an walked around the corner. In walked several of Spiderman's greatest villains. Spidey showed me the way out and took care of business. I then went to pick up Aaron, he took the wheel and drove us to the Johnston Library. The library had a long drive to go down and it was bigger than any building I had ever seen. We at one point had to drive up on the curb to ignore hitting a parked car. As Aaron drove along the curb I saw a group of Latino gang members. "Get us the Hell away from these South Americans" I yelled at Aaron and he did. We went into the library and Aaron bought me a Beatles album. As we were leaving we ran into Heather Perry. I gave her a hug but she pushed me off. When I apologized to her some guy who now spoke for her said it's OK everybody tries that. She then walked off hand in had with some girl. I went home to play my new Beatles record it wasn't the Beatles at all it was a message from Spiderman who now needs help...I woke up
